Cyril Paxford works alone, in a job that demands complete anonymity. When a reconnaissance mission goes wrong, it's up to Cyril to fix his own mistake. Breaking into a nearby home to find supplies, the solo operator is faced with reminders of family, community, and everything he has sacrificed for a lonely career. With no orders, no backup, and no one to encourage him, it'll take more than his training to pull him through.

In 2022, Hunter Boydell was stuck. Since releasing his breakout film in 2020 and founding his own production company, a combination of lockdowns, health concerns, and travel restrictions had made filming much more complicated, just as Hunter was starting the transition into a professional career. While there were still opportunities out there, being able to direct his own stories again started to feel almost impossible, despite years of experience in short films.
Then, Hunter had an idea ... Back to basics. 1 man. 1 camera. Shoot at home, and in places he could walk to. Find clothes in the cupboard and props from around the house. Beat the restrictions. Tell a compelling story. Release a film!
In May 2022, Paxford was released independently through Breaking Jar, receiving very positive reviews from around the world. With rough-and-ready production and the most basic equipment, this film bears witness to the undeniable power of a good story: to drive a project forward, connect deeply with viewers, and enable an emerging Director to finally go pro.
